In 2011 and 2012 we had two retirements from our staff. Mary Neville and Carmel Mollin have dedicated their careers initially to the girls of the parish and following the amalgamation of our schools to the boys and girls of the parish. The author and teacher Bryan MacMahon wrote that "a teacher leaves the

track of his teeth on a parish for three generations." We have been lucky in Rahan to have had the privilege of having our children taught by Mary and Carmel who carried on the tradition of Sr Oliver and Sr Patrick before them. In their case one could describe their influence as having used their hands to gently mould three generations of our parish.
