Parent Teacher Communication
This is a child page of Policies
Scoil Charthaigh Naofa understands the importance of good communication between home and school as being an integral part of ensuring success in a child's education.
Teachers in each class will organise an open meeting in the month of September to allow parents the opportunity to:
Meet the teacher.
Hear how the teacher intends to work during the year and to communicate how parents can assist her work.
Get a brief introduction to the subjects and class content to be undertaken during the year.
A formal parent teacher meeting will take place annually in the second school term. Parents will be notified of the dates of the meetings and will be asked to indicate their preferred time. Meeting times will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Should the time be unsuitable an alternative time that suits both the teacher and the parent can be organised by contacting the school secretary.
Parents must make an appointment to speak with their child's teacher should they have any concerns or queries that arise outside of the timeframe for the parent teacher meetings.
Messages home will be sent via the text a parent service. Parents are required to notify the school if they have changed their mobile number. Longer letters home will be sent home with the children and a text informing parents of the letter home will be sent out.
The school calendar will be sent home to parents in the June preceding the start of the school year.
The school will endeavour to ensure that parents are contacted as soon as possible with any changes to the school calendar or schedule.
